Strips Love Down to Its Purest, Most Genuine Form
Multi-talented South African singer-songwriter and producer Lee Cole returns with Mine, a warm, guitar-driven track that strips love down to its simplest, most honest form. Inspired by an uplifting guitar riff he stumbled upon while playing, Mine captures the story of two people wanting to be together — one of them boldly saying, “Give me a chance, I could be good for you.”
“This song is about shooting your shot,” Lee explains. “It’s about being direct with someone you connect with, telling them: If you give me a shot, I can be everything you want — because I feel like you could be everything I need. In a world where relationships are often weighed down by expectations and rules, sometimes love is just about being honest and clear.”

Mine embraces a sparse, acoustic, and intimate sound — yet remains vibey, catchy, and radio-friendly — fully produced by Lee himself. “I could have taken the song in so many directions, but I wanted to keep it plain and simple,” he says. “The challenge was making sure the vocals and lyrics really hit home — that they carried the emotion of what I wanted to say.”
For Lee, the timing of the release is intentional. “The world right now could use more love, more open communication. Mine isn’t chasing trends — it’s just a feel-good, vibey song about connection.”
If Mine were a movie, Lee envisions it as a romantic comedy set in a cosy apartment — two people laughing, joking, and enjoying the simplicity of being together, with one openly declaring: “I know what you need, and I’m willing to give it to you.”

“Mine” follows Cole’s recent successes, including the award of Best Male English vocalist at the Afr-indie Awards 2025, and “ICE=CREAM” (which made South Africa’s Top 40 airplay chart) and “Blind”—a 2024 smash with over 85 million listeners (Radiomonitor). With a sound that blends pop, R&B, and soul, Cole has become one of the country’s most compelling voices, earning slots opening for Robbie Williams (Cape Town, 2025) and sharing stages with Calum Scott.
Beyond music, Cole is a South African national rink hockey player, balancing artistry and athleticism with equal passion. Mine is available now on all streaming platforms. Fans can look forward to live performances and more new music from Lee later this year.

Known for hits like “Blind,” “Headrush,” “Pink Dragons,” “Ice=Cream” and “Honey, Let Me In,” Cole’s music has resonated with millions, marked by chart-topping singles, award-winning performances, and unforgettable live shows. His 2024 single, “Blind,” soared to the #1 spot on multiple South African radio charts. Building on this success, his August 2024 release, “Headrush,” garnered an impressive audience of over 20 million listeners and secured strong chart positions. His November 2024 hit, “Little Bit,” further cemented his rising status in the industry. His last three singles alone have amassed over 3,000 plays on South African radio. Cole is poised to maintain his momentum by consistently releasing new music, including his 2025 dance track “Ice=cream” (SA Top 20 Radio Chart) and his latest heartfelt single, “Mine”.
Lee Cole was crowned Best Male Singer in South Africa (English) at the 2025 Afri-Indie Awards (SA Independent Artist Music Awards), solidifying his place as a leading voice in the nation’s music scene. Lee Cole’s live performances have further cemented his reputation as a captivating artist. From intimate club shows to major festivals, he consistently delivers unforgettable experiences for his audiences. Highlights include his 2024 Eastern and Western Cape tour, featuring a standout performance at KFM’s KDAY, and his dynamic appearances at the SAFTAs and as the opening act for Calum Scott. Fresh from the success of his milestone performances as the opening act for global icon Robbie Williams in Cape Town and Pretoria earlier this year—and having just returned from Portugal, where he supported South African rock legends Prime Circle on their European tour—Cole is riding a wave of momentum that bridges local acclaim and international appeal. Influenced by rock legends Queen, AC/DC, and Michael Jackson, Lee Cole’s artistry reflects a genre-defying sound that melds powerful vocals with emotional storytelling. Behind the scenes, Marco Gomes (founder of Prime Circle), his manager, praises Cole’s “X Factor” and unique approach to music. While music is his primary passion, Lee Cole is also a proud National rink hockey player, representing South Africa in this demanding sport. This dual role as a musician and athlete showcases his dedication and versatility, making him a true ambassador for the country both on and off the stage.
