Galpalooza Returns in 2025 for a Weekend of Music, Art, and Celebration of Women in the SA Creative Scene

South Africa’s premier women-led music and arts festival, Galpalooza, is back for its third annual edition! Taking place over Women’s Day weekend on 8th & 9th August 2025, this two-day festival will once again celebrate and honour the incredible women in South Africa’s music and creative industries.

Set against the scenic backdrop of Otterlake German Restaurant in Roodeplaat, Pretoria, festival-goers can look forward to an electrifying lineup of female-fronted live performances, DJ sets, art exhibitions, market stalls, and exciting activities throughout the weekend. This year, the event will also feature a special free Sunday session, giving attendees one last chance to soak in the festival atmosphere.

A Full Weekend of Music & Fun

Live music kicks off at 5pm on Friday and 12 Noon on Saturday, running into the night with DJ performances to keep the energy high. The full artist lineup is set to be announced soon, featuring an eclectic mix of some of South Africa’s most exciting female-fronted acts.

For festival-goers wanting to immerse themselves in the full experience, General Admission tickets include access to both Friday and Saturday, plus free camping right next to the river—offering a true festival escape under the stars.

Food, Drinks & Amenities

Festival-goers can enjoy a fully stocked bar & delicious food from Otterlake’s kitchen—so bring cash or card and tuck in! Cooler boxes are not allowed in the main festival area, but attendees can make use of designated braai facilities at the venue, and the restaurant will be serving breakfast from 10 AM and be open late into the evening.

For those camping, the site is equipped with showers, bathrooms, and a swimming pool, ensuring a comfortable stay. However, no fires are allowed in the camping area, and electricity is unavailable at campsites.
