Ottawa’s own chart-topping singer-songwriter Jamie Fine shares new single, “homesick,” following her most recent “I Will Wait For Forever,” which dropped earlier this summer. This track solidifies Fine’s speciality for crafting catchy and emotionally rich pop music. Listen to “homesick” here.
Jamie’s always championed her hometown, from her strong support of the PWHL’s Ottawa Chargers, to now dedicating this new single to the city. She describes “homesick” as a heartfelt look at her connection to Ottawa and its people. “Leaving home has always been tough for me, and coming back is what grounds and calms me the most,” Fine explains. “Deciding to leave for career opportunities was one of the hardest choices I’ve ever made, and I wanted to write a song about my hometown letting me go; letting me do what I had to do elsewhere while reminding me it would always be there for me to come back to. ‘Nothing’s gonna change and I hope you know, I’ll be ready when you’re ready to come home,’ are some of my favorite lyrics I’ve been a part of writing.” “homesick,” goes beyond the hometown, to what the sense of home can mean saying whether it’s about a place or about a person.
Jamie Fine will return to the road with the “If This is It” headline tour, which kicks off in South Africa next week, before co-headlining the “Back To Life” cross-Canada tour alongside Shawn Desman starting in November.
