A Funny, Loud, No‑Apologies Anthem

Los Angeles, CA. – NightShift Special return with a tongue‑in‑cheek rocker that leans into grit, humor, and pure Midwest attitude. Their new SINGLE and VIDEO, “White Trash,” is all about showing you what it is to be just that.

Hailing from Saginaw, MI., NightShift Special is Chase Engel (vocals, guitar), Connor Schrems (lead guitar), James Hudson(rhythm guitar), Zander Regent (bass) and Jimmy Shaw (drums).

The idea for the song came from an offhand comment Chase overheard about people who are from the Midwest. “I always try to write something fun and a bit silly, but something that still rocks. I heard someone say the Midwest where we live is nothing but ‘white trash’ and I was like hmm… I love how that rolls off the tongue.”

The band’s signature humor shows up in the lyrics, especially in the line that Chase wrote and can relate to. “Wearing dress shoes while I weed wack”, for sure. Everyone that knows me knows I almost always wear dress shoes and, yes, I wear them even when doing yard work sometimes.”
The writing process for “White Trash” was pretty effortless. “Con and I banged this one out like nothing. One of the faster songs to come together for us. I don’t think we even did many revisions, what we originally came up with was what we wanted, and that’s rare.”

As always, visuals were part of the creative DNA from the start. “I write a lot of the lyrics with a video in mind, so after the song comes together the videos are fairly easy at that point.”
At its core, “White Trash” is meant to be a good time: amusing, loose, and unpretentious. “I hope listeners have fun with it. It’s a fun thing and is meant to be so. Don’t take it too seriously,” Chase explains.

NightShift Special is always up to something new and never slows down. “We’ve got another super cool jam we’re finishing up that we think is gonna be an awesome follow‑up. Stay tuned.”
