RADA – Celebrating Heritage and Humanity

Celebrating Heritage and Humanity – Together as One Nation

As September unfolds, RADA invites all South Africans to reflect on our shared history, diverse cultures and the powerful threads that connect us as a nation. Heritage Month is more than a celebration, it is a moment to pause, reflect and honour the rich traditions and legacies that shape who we are.

Heritage lives within each of us, in the words we speak, the traditions we follow and the memories handed down by those who came before us. It is both personal and powerful, shaping how we see the world and how we connect with others. Heritage unites us in powerful ways, giving us a collective identity rooted in respect, understanding and pride. By embracing our differences and acknowledging our common ground, we build a stronger, more compassionate society.

At the heart of this celebration lies the spirit of Ubuntu, the belief in our shared humanity and the value of kindness, respect and unity. In a time when the world feels increasingly divided, RADA calls on every individual to become a beacon of change: to show love, extend empathy and inspire hope.

Through its RADA CARE programme, RADA continues to support vulnerable communities across South Africa. With the help of generous sponsors, the organisation provides monthly food and essential supplies to over 11,600 individuals through its network of 39 adopted homes, centres and projects in five provinces. Consistent support reinforces a simple truth: when we care for one another, we build a society where everyone has the chance to grow and succeed.

We encourage everyone to honour heritage not just through celebration but through meaningful action such as sharing meals, engaging in conversations, participating in cultural events and most importantly, uplifting those around us. Let your daily choices reflect the world you want to build: one of unity, dignity and shared purpose.

Be the Way … Be the Change …One Day at a Time.
