Robin Pieters releases powerful new single “September”: A soulful ode to heartbreak, healing & letting go
Acclaimed South African singer, producer and performer Robin Pieters returns with his most personal and soul-stirring release yet “September”, out today across all digital platforms.
A South African born singer, producer and actor, whose singing career started in the church. Since then, I have progressed from being a backing vocalist, to a headline artist, producing and hosting some of Cape Town’s biggest shows. I was a finalist on The Voice South Africa 2016. Although I did not win, I took the lessons that I learned on both shows, put the pedal to the metal and used the opportunities provided to build a successful career. Some of my career highlights include 10 sold out shows at the Grand Arena, and my very first sold-out outdoor music festival “Its A Love Thing” at Hillcrest Quarry. Furthermore, I have also performed at the renowned KKnK festival and am a resident performer on Musiek Roulette as well as regularly perform on Noot vir Noot. I have also shared the stage with both national and international artists such as Jonathan Butler, Tevin Campbell, Tamia, and CeCe Peniston among others. I’ve amassed an impressive social media following across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, and have cultivated a strong loyal fanbase
More than just a heartbreak anthem, “September” is a tender journey through grief, acceptance, and the often painful art of letting go. Written in the wake of a breakup, the song is a deeply intimate offering from Pieters – one that chronicles his own emotional healing while inviting listeners to reflect on their own.

“Letting go is never easy. Sometimes, it feels impossible,” says Pieters. “But this song helped me do that. I hope it helps others too, whether you need closure, courage, or just a moment to feel seen.”
With a heartfelt vocal delivery layered over lush, emotive production, “September” stands as a testament to Pieters’ evolving artistry. The track was brought to life by a team of long-time collaborators who understand his musical journey intimately:
- Luke Goliath, the visionary producer who helped shape every beat of the single.
- Trevino Isaacs, Robin’s musical director and guiding light through countless major performances.
- Jodi Jantjies, dear friend, artist and co-writer, who infused the song with raw honesty and emotional depth.

Robin Pieters first won hearts across the country as a finalist on The Voice South Africa in 2016. Since then, he’s gone on to become one of Cape Town’s most beloved musical forces selling out ten shows at the Grand Arena, hosting his own festival (It’s A Love Thing at Hillcrest Quarry), and becoming a fixture on popular television shows like Musiek Roulette and Noot vir Noot.
He’s shared stages with legends including Tevin Campbell, Tamia, CeCe Peniston, and Jonathan Butler, and continues to inspire a growing and devoted fanbase across platforms.
With his brand-new single finally out, Pieters says “September is yours now and may it bring you what it brought me.”
