SHERON – ‘GURRI (YOU KNOW YOU SHOULD)’ SINGLE REVIEW

Sheron (Sharon  Sibert) is an alternative rock artist, producer, and musical instrument virtuoso with more than 30 years’ experience in bands X‑Over, Watershed and Amersham. From high-profile corporate events for brands like Pick n Pay, Telkom, and Edcon, to prestigious casino residencies at Sun City, Montecasino, and The Carousel Casino, to international performances at the Australian Embassy in Beijing, Sheron continues to push creative boundaries and captivate audiences worldwide.

His mad skills shows in this confident, riff‑driven anthem. ‘Gurri (You Know You Should)’ tackles that familiar inner conflict between self‑doubt and bravery. The track is an upbeat pep talk to anyone who’s ever hesitated to be the main character in their own story, built around a crazy guitar hook and an infectious chorus. The music video is a live‑action sequences of Sheron in vulnerable moments interrupted with an quite cute cartoon alter ego urging him to own his confidence. It’s a fun yet effective way to demonstrate the inner critic versus the inner hero of your own story.

Wow, wow, wow! I’m pleasantly surprised by how good this track is. Everything is good – the vocals, the melody, the message, the play of the instruments and the music video. And that guitar “solo” – oh my goodness! Sheron’s 30 years of experience shines bright in this song. He is indeed the hero in his own musical hehe.

The music video is sooo cute. It’s like watching a top notch animated movie! I didn’t want it to end. And at the end I was surprised again with this cute cartoon version of Sheron kind of turning into clay and being folded by a woman’s hands. I didn’t expect that but it was genius! Everything came together perfectly!

Like Sheron previously said in an interview, Gurri can be many people – a part of himself or people he has known. He can be your narcissistic buddy, criticizing you, or the part of you that has social anxiety. Gurri almost makes me think of that little “angel” or “devil” that’s on your shoulders, one cheering you on and the other one breaking you down. I also have that “problem” and I think many people do too. I sometimes want to strangle the “devil” one though lol.

I’m very excited for this track and video. Very well done, Sheron! You have a new fan now lol.

Lyrics | Clean English

It always ends the same

You feel so alone

You never take the blame

Where do you go?

Who do you think know?

You’ve been around the block

You talk so much

And never hear them knock

So much for friends

Does it make sense?

When you’re dancing around in the rain (You’re all wet)

Look inside, they can’t all give you pain

Let them in for a while

You better find out if you could

You know you should

You have to find your way

Starting today

You’ve turned out quite ok

What can I say?

Maybe some day

When you’re dancing around in the rain (You’re all wet)

Look inside, they can’t all give you pain

Let them in for a while

You better find out if you could

You know you should

When you’re dancing around in the rain (You’re all wet)

Look inside, they can’t all give you pain

When you’re dancing around in the rain

Take a good look inside I’m not gonna ask you again
