Rising artist SONIQUE releases another new single, ‘Black & White’ – a raw and relatable track for those who know what it’s like to live inside an overthinking mind.
‘Black & White’ is a conversation with the mind – the longing for peace colliding with the restless circle of thoughts that refuse to switch off. SONIQUE captures the feeling of being chased by something unseen, caught in the endless loop of ‘what ifs’, where nothing feels clear.
“When you overthink, nothing feels black and white,” says SONIQUE. “There’s no simple yes or no, right or wrong – only endless shades of grey. It’s a constant ‘what if,’ where you’re never fully at ease, yet never completely uneasy either.”
She continues to explain, “I wrote ‘Black & White’ for those chasing a calm mind but end up feeling stuck, to remind them they’re seen, heard and not alone.”

SONIQUE officially debuted on the music scene with ‘Why Are We Still Here’ in July 2024, but it was her breakout single ‘Marinade’, released on August 2nd in collaboration with South African humanitarian organization RADA, that firmly established her as an artist to watch. The track catapulted her into the spotlight, garnering both national and international attention across press, radio and television.
She followed up with ‘Finding Your Way’, her third major release of the year and later joined a star-studded lineup on ‘Together We Are Stronger’, a RADA Unearthed collaboration track, produced by Mark Beling and written by Neil Engel, the track features an impressive lineup of artists including iSandi, Ramelo, Pedro Barbosa, Lia Elise, Ross Learmonth, SEVVEN, Me-Ko, SeanJ and Beling himself.
In March 2025, SONIQUE opened the new year with ‘My Calling’, followed by her first ballad ‘Uncaged’ in June, continuing her rise as a bold and expressive voice in music.
