The Color Blew are a band I am very familiar with and at one stage I used to work very closely with the band, so it always excites me when I see what the band have come up to next and also how far the band have come, I always get a proud feeling because they always seem to get stronger with every release.
The band has recently released their new single. ‘Leave. ‘ As the track starts I immediately pick up on what I call ‘The Color Blew Sound’, although the band continue to push boundaries, they do have a specific sound that I picked up from the first few notes, so this song would excite old fans of the bands but as well as gaining a few new fans if this is your first introduction to the band, and what an introudvction it would be if this is the first time you have heard of the band because this song is ‘Fire’
Lead Vocalist Liaan Horton’s voice has so much emotion in his voice which is really a great feature of the song, I really do enjoy songs with emotion and has feeling and ‘Leave’ has just that

Now having learnt that could this be a new chapter of the band that has already been going for several years, if so then this song is a great track to pave the way forward and like I said if you knew to the band, I do urge you to go check out their old stuff but this track is an amazing way to start things off and for the future of the band.
Having known the band personally and had the opportunity of hanging out with the band at their studio, I do know production is something they take seriously, and that is once again evident in this song. The whole recording as a whole is top notch and of great quality. I can just imagine, Liaan sitting at the sound desk deep in thought and work as I do know he is the Recorder, Producer and Mixer of the track, all of which he does so well and I do think just from production value, this song and any Color Blew song has the potential to be amongst the best in the world and would of course hold it’s own.
The rest of the band, George (Bass), Tim (Guitar) & Armando (drums), of course, do their parts beautifully, really complementing the emotion needed for the song and Liaan’s vocals. Having seen this band play live and also seen them jam in the jam room, this band just has such a great connection, they seem to be able to read each other’s minds when playing and I can imagine this song came fairly easy, not because it’s an easy song to do, but just because they fill each others spaces and needs so effortlessly and that is what is needed for a great band.
The song itself kind of takes me on a lucid dreaming kind of feeling, almost like I’m in a trance and drawn in with the piece of music playing, music has the power to do that and it struck all the correct nerves and made the hairs on my neck stand a bit, that also could be because I’m such a fan of the band so proud how far they have come and where they heading.
Well done to The Color Blew again for once on a great new song, and I look forward to seeing what comes next out of the band’s camp. I am super proud of you for this band.
